Your Right-Hand Resource

At Eagle, we focus on our physicians so they can focus on their patients. In short, we work for you. Whether you require billing and collections support, expert coding intelligence, credentialing or continued training and education, our experts work as a team across all areas to create an environment you are proud to work in.

Our partnership philosophy is more than just a business model. It’s a personal investment. It’s why we give out our direct phone numbers, check in with our physicians and NP/PAs during off hours, and make sure the hospital is meeting your requirements. Ultimately, it’s how we build lasting relationships.

The following support services are prime examples of how we continue to foster a physician-focused culture and create opportunities for your career growth:
Licensing & Credentialing
Local Practice Support
Clinical Support

Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants

Licensing & Credentialing

With Eagle as your partner, licensing and credentialing (which is typically a time-consuming and somewhat frustrating process) is expedited for you by the Eagle credentialing team. We initially complete your application for your review, edit and signature. During the complex credentialing process, the Eagle team works closely with the hospital and/or licensing staff to track, solicit, and follow up all primary verifications, thus shortening the time required to receive approval and getting you on board quickly.

Local Practice Support

Eagle offers detailed training and orientation with regard to your hospitalist program, providing insight into the framework of the program as it relates to billing, coding, hand-off policies, patient procedures, regulatory compliance, co-management expectations, and more. Our step-by-step process and partnership approach ensures you’ll feel completely at ease and knowledgeable on day one. Moreover, we offer an expert support staff, including a dedicated practice coordinator and medical director on site, as well as an expert billing team that’s just a phone call away, so you’re never without a resource.

Clinical Support

We have implemented a number of invaluable clinical-support tools and services to give you more time and more visibility into your practice, as well as ensure your focus remains on providing the best quality care for the patient – including Web-based scheduling prepared in advance and updated best practices with regard to order sets. In addition, we conduct regular chart audits and develop individual coaching plans for physicians.

Coding: Not only do we introduce our hospitalists to the Eagle coding specialists onsite, helping them to establish a positive working relationship within this critical area, our coding system is outfitted with SmartCoder, an innovative application that enables physicians to select the appropriate medical care code. Eagle has received amazing feedback from its physicians using this tool with regard to its ease of use and amazing accuracy. Best of all, if a code is not accurate or a claim is denied, our team will analyze, correct, and resubmit it for payment. Then we’ll follow up with the physician directly to keep them aware of current processes and best practices.

Metrics: We recognize and financially reward our physicians for their accomplishments. For that reason, we offer metrics that give our physicians insight into their practice, from patient satisfaction, readmission rates and expense savings, to order set usage, eLOS and RVUs. All of these measurements help you and the hospital understand your contribution to the program’s success, helping you gain recognition and career growth.  For an example of our metrics, view the case study for Georgetown Health System.

At the end of the day, you have direct access to Eagle’s senior leadership and hospitalist thought leaders.

Leadership Track

At Eagle, we’re invested in your success, both within our hospitalist program and in your future as a physician. That’s why we support your career growth through Eagle’s Master Degree program, CME funds, and other education leadership initiatives.

In addition we offer a 2.5-day annual Medical Director Summit, a premier training and education event for all Medical Directors within the Eagle network of hospitalist programs. This summit focuses on enhancing core physician administrative skills, provides education on emerging trends in hospitalist medicine, and promotes the sharing of best practices in operations and processes. The summit also provides access to and dialogue with nationally renowned educators and business leaders in topics relevant to hospitalist medicine.

Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants

Eagle is recognized as a leader in the use of the blended team model which partners NPs/PAs and Physicians together in the delivery of inpatient care.  This effort is led by our CMO, Dr. M Wilson who is the founding Chairman and past Co-Chairman and member of the Non-Physician Provider Committee for the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM).  Dr Wilson pioneered early efforts to leverage the skills of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in hospitalist practices. He led the team that developed, and then served as medical director and course co-director for the Adult Hospitalist Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner Boot Camp (2009, 2010) – a joint venture between the Society of Hospital Medicine, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr. Wilson is regarded as an expert in the field, and has consulted and lectured extensively on this topic.

While local hospital culture and customary practice may influence the team’s decision as to the level of physician involvement, the end result is to ensure expert resources are available to meet the needs of the patients, families, and referring providers while providing safe, efficient, high-quality care.
