Certainly. You may have an opportunity to work extra shifts at your hospital or perhaps at another of our programs. |

What is the structure of your hospitalist teams? |

A: |
Each of our teams consists of staff hospitalists, an onsite Medical Director Hospitalist, and an onsite Practice Coordinator. Some practices also have discharge nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants on the team. Additionally, you have the support of your Eagle corporate team. |

Eagle has corporate offices in Dallas, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, Asheville, North Carolina and St. lLuis Missouri. Our hospital clients are located accross the nation in 17 states. Building on its existing presence, Eagle is currently expanding within the Southwest and Midwest. |

What is the typical size of an Eagle hospital? |

Eagle provides hospitalist services to a myriad of hospital types. We have teams in small, non-urban markets as well as major metropolitan areas ranging in a multitude of hospital sizes. We can accommodate our physicians' varied interests. |

How many patients would I see on a typical shift? |

A: |
Eagle physicians typically see 15 to 18 patient encounters in a 12-hour shift. |

Do you interview physicians in residency? |

Yes. Many of our hospitalist teams are comfortable extending offers to residents who meet the needs of the team. |

How do NPs/PAs support the practice? |
|
A: |
At Eagle, all NP/PAs practice in a blended team model with hospitalist attending physicians who serve as the NP/PA primary, supervising or delegating physician as required by state NP/PA laws and statues.
NP/PAs can carry their own census and practice according to the needs of the service, within the parameters established in the hospital bylaws and rules and regulations, and in accordance with the skill level and experience of the NP/PA. Blended teams can be more flexible in managing the day-to-day fluctuations in workload, and NP/PAs can function as a forced multiplier for hospitalists by caring for some patients on the hospitalist service while the hospitalist cares for others – generally with a higher severity of illness or acuity of need. |

If I am interested in a particular hospital, what is the interview process? |
|
A: |
Eagle has a thorough, yet streamlined process for hiring physicians. We will have a general teleconference with you to discuss the particular hospital of interest to you and your goals. From there, you’ll speak by phone with the Medical Director of the respective hospitalist team who can field any clinical questions you may have. If there’s interest on both sides, we’ll schedule a site visit for you to interview at the hospital and meet the hospitalist team and the hospital administration. Finally, with mutually agreed upon terms, we’ll extend a contract. |
