Eagle hospitalists are highly qualified internal or family medicine physicians who work exclusively in the hospital setting, coordinating round-the-clock patient care for referring physicians. They perform all the duties expected of an attending physician and ensure that the patient's personal physician receives a thorough report on each patient. With this approach, patients receive more focused attention and better care, which can be measured through ALOS, among other quarterly care metrics.

Eagle physicians share risk in the success of their hospital, as a meaningful portion of their compensation is tied to the measurable objectives of the hospitalist program. To better identify whether these objectives are being met, Eagle has developed practice scorecards focused on each program’s opportunity and value equation. The scorecard is used as a tool to report back to hospital administration, providing actionable information that offers visibility into the practice.

In addition to identifying, training and placing permanent qualified hospitalists, Eagle has developed an in-house locum tenens team, Hospitalist Connections, to provide for quick starts, unanticipated physician coverage needs and rapid expansion of services.
