Hospital Inpatient Medicine Options: On-Site Practice and Remote Presence Practice

Today hospitalists can be an integral part of a hospitalist team in practice on-site or a part of Eagle's Remote Presence Practice (RPP), serving patients, physicians and hospitals from a remote location via telemedicine using the InTouch Health RP-7 robot. The RPP partners with onsite physicians in various ways and can help by:

• augmenting coverage for day to day census management due to peak volumes or unexpected absences
• providing night coverage
• working with non-physician providers in collaborative practice

RPP hospitalists can live virtually anywhere and have flexible schedules.

Whether you are on-site or remote, Eagle hospitalists are physicians who work exclusively in the hospital setting. Our physicians work in partnership with the patient’s personal physicians and hospital staff to:

• Admit and attend to patients at the request of their personal physicians
• Collaborate with Emergency Room physicians in evaluation and placement of patients needing admission
• Provide medical consultation for specialists or PCPs on request
• Provide ICU care as needed for inpatients
• Participate in quality initiatives
• Manage resources efficiently — lab, X-ray, pharmacy, and more

Founded in 1998, Eagle Hospital Physicians, LLC is an independent, physician led company that focuses on developing hospitalist practices in the southeast and mid-atlantic states. Eagle founder, Medical Director and CMO, Robert W. Young, M.D., M.P.H. helped to pioneer the hospitalist concept at a large group practice in Atlanta early in the 1990’s.
